• Pakistan is an agriculture-based country where intensive agriculture is practiced in order to meet the needs of rapidly growing population. The aim of this project is to promote sustainable use of organic amendments (Incorporated crop residues of harvest, Manures, Organic wastes and Composts etc.) and to create a balanced environment where humans live in harmony with nature.

• The 4‰ ‘(4 per 1000 – Soils for Food Security and Climate') Initiative was launched at COP21 in Paris with the prime objective to promotes a 4/1000 annual growth rate of the soil carbon stock to improve soil fertility and agricultural production and to mitigate the temperature increase. The Initiative was established with an understanding that agricultural soils can play a crucial role in solving climate change and food security problems. Based on scientific evidence, this Initiative tends to implement practical programs for carbon sequestration in soil and the types of farming methods used to promote it such as agroecology, agroforestry and conservation agriculture. This project has been started with an objective to promote sustainable agricultural practices among farming community aimed at increasing carbon stocks in soils of Punjab.
